Understanding Hate

Today, there is a lot of confusion about "hate". So, let's clear it up. Hate is a powerful spiritual desire to destroy. Now, animals can brutally destroy other animals but only Humans, composed of body and soul, are said to "hate".  So the first thing to understand about hate is that it is part of the lexicon of a spiritual worldview. (In the Scriptures, even God is said to hate evil.) Consequently, there is no theoretical meaning for "hate" to a materialist. More and more, those with a secular worldview use the term to refer to people who "act on the basis of inequality".
Inequality? Yes. Please allow me to explain. Stripping the world of a belief in God forces most everyone to depend on physical ethics born of our primal necessities. Hence, the god-free world generates 4 primal ethics: Survival, Utility, Victim and Nature ethics. Three of these are defensive ethics that use physical equality as a shield and one (Utility) is merely the human animal driving toward what it wants at any cost. Thus, "hate" is an interpretation of the modern Left to mean: seeing the world as an unequal place and acting upon that premise.
Who approaches the world as an unequal place?  There are atleast 2 groups. The Utilitarian (ranging from free market capitalism to Adolph Hitler's dream of a master race) and, of course, anyone who believes in a Created or natural order--God.
Here is one example of the conflicting interpretations of "hate".  Gay marriage is premised on the "absolute physical equality" of Nature ethics--where everything evolved randomly into various shapes therefore all shapes should recieve equal deference.  Thus, to approach the reality of male and females as essentially different is to "hate".  This leaves loving Christians scratching their heads, trying to explain how they don't "hate"...(from a spiritual perspective of "destroy")...when the Left has a different meaning for the same word.  The left means "unequal worldview" when they say "hate".  And, unequal worldviews start with making distinctions about ideas and reality itself.  Thus, the post-identity path to world peace is the Left's pride and joy.
Of course, the natural world is an unequal place: full of lion kings, queen bees, top dogs and pecking orders.  And, if absolute physical equality is a fact of nature...it is universally met with indifference.  Thus, Humans imposing absolute physical equality on each other (even for defensive reasons) seems utterly unnatural.  It is either a highly advanced evolutionary stage or a nutty and perverse delusion...depending on whom you ask.
So the next time you are called a "hatefilled" Nazi for promoting an unequal view (a natural view of reality) consider that your detractors have a completely different take on the word "hate" and on ethics in general.

I will discuss secular ethics more in later posts.
